We often hear negative things about the city and about the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD). We should also wonder how people feel in their own neighborhoods, because that’s their day-to-day experience."

3 Easy Ways to Vote:

1. Vote-By-Mail (VBM) Early Voting: if you are holding on to a vote-by-mail (VBM) ballot, mail your ballot into the Election Division office asap. 2. In-Person Early Voting: stop by the Election Division office between now and next Monday, May 20 between the hours of 8am-5pm to cast your vote. The Election Division office is located at Piper Technical Center (555 Ramirez Street, Space 375, Los Angeles, CA 90012).

Protect the Vote this Election Day – Volunteer with Election Protection Here

California Common Cause is privileged to be able to play an active role in this year’s national, nonpartisan Election Protection efforts to ensure that all eligible voters have the right to cast their ballots on Election Day (November 6). Election Protection, a coalition of more than 100 local, state and national partners coordinated by the Lawyers Committee for Civil Rights Under Law, is the nation’s most ambitious nonpartisan effort to prevent Election Day disenfranchisement.

Together with law firms and organizations across the country, on November 6, the School will be hosting an Election Protection hotline – a toll-free, nonpartisan resource to answer voter questions during the election on Tuesday, November 6.

Volunteering with the Election Protection Program and Sign-Up Instructions

On Election Day (Tuesday, November 6), the UCLA School of Law’s clinical lab will be turned into a local Call Center, joining the law firms of Reed Smith and Munger, Tolles & Olson and the National Association of Latino Elected and Appointed Officials in servicing the southern California area.

Voters in southern California who encounter a problem at the polls and call the Election Protection hotline number will be routed to one of our Call Centers. If you wish to volunteer, you must attend one of the Election Protection trainings. See here: www.866ourvote.org

Sign-Up instructions – Mandatory Training and Call Center Volunteer Shifts

To sign up for another training: Go to the Election Protection website, http://www.866ourvote.org/, click on “Volunteer,” and follow the registration instructions, which then will allow you to sign-up for a training in your designated geographic area.

There are many other opportunities in the field for those who wish to volunteer at the polls on Election Day. If you are interested in volunteering in the field, go to the Election Protection website, http://www.866ourvote.org/, click on “Volunteer,” and follow the registration instructions, which then will allow you to sign up for a mandatory training and for one or more volunteer shifts.
